Product Description:

Our Colorado/Canyon Duramax ProVent Kits prevent harmful oil vapors from making it into your intake, rotting hoses and clogging the engine with thick, oily sludge. Once you have fitted our ProVent kit to your vehicle, you will be amazed at what you catch!

Benefits:

  • Reduces DPF ash loading which can extend DPF service life
  • Reduces sludge build up in intake manifold
  • Helps maintain vehicle power and fuel efficiency
  • Stops intercooler contamination
  • Reduces fatigue of turbo bearings
  • Ensures cleaner air is delivered to the engine
  • Keeps sensors clean

Sludge is bad! The the 2.8L Duramax engine found in the 2015+ Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon has an oil mist problem. Significant amounts of oil vapors (which also include water, raw diesel fuel, abrasive particulate matter and other contaminates) make their way from the crankcase into the intake, through the turbocharger compressor and intercooler (where it accumulates) and finally mixes with soot from the EGR, clogging the intake manifold with thick, oily sludge. Over time, this sludge will block intake ports and cause expensive engine components to fail prematurely. Additionally, oil mist accumulates in your intake hoses, rotting them out and filling the intercooler with oil, causing premature component failure and significant repair costs.

No more sludge! Our kit prevents these harmful oil vapors from making it into your intake in the first place. Featuring the proven MANN ProVent 200 IV and our custom-formed hoses, this kit is the best option for safely and reliably redirecting that harmful oil vapor and capturing it in a filtration system, where it can simply be drained at each oil change. Our mounting system and hoses make installation and maintenance simple, and all components are of the highest quality available.

DPF ash loading is bad! The accumulation of ash in Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) limits the filter’s service life, increasing its pressure drop, and reduces fuel economy.  According to the service manual: “Ash is a non-combustible by-product from normal oil consumption. Ash accumulation will eventually cause a restriction in the DPF. Being non-combustible, ash is not burned off during regeneration. An ash loaded DPF will need to be removed from the vehicle and replaced.” A new replacement DPF costs between $1,950 – $2,250 from the GM dealership, depending on your truck’s cab configuration. Our kit prevents the combustion of harmful crankcase vapors, which reduces ash loading of the DPF, helping to extend DPF service life and maintain vehicle power and fuel efficiency.

Late model diesel emissions systems are required to return internal gasses from the crankcase back into the air intake system. This air often has tiny droplets of oil called blow-by, and over time accumulate, clogging up intake manifolds, intercoolers and turbochargers, generally reducing performance of your vehicle. EGR valves and coolers are also clogged, turning the normally dry carbon or soot into a sludgy tar like substance again slowly reducing performance and economy of your vehicle over time.

Mann & Hummel utilizes technology from their compressed air industry knowledge and adapts it to the filter element used in the Mann ProVent 200 IV – separating around 98% of contaminates. Crucially, the ProVent 200 IV is also fitted with an integrated safety valve to guard against irregular crankcase pressure. Without this feature, you run a high risk of blowing out the rear main seal.

Maintenance:

We recommend checking the ProVent 200 IV drain line once a month at first and draining if needed by using the simple drain valve supplied in the kit. The typical drain interval varies but tends to coincide with the oil change interval. The Provent 200 IV filter element will need replacing after 25k-35k miles.

  • MANN ProVent 200 IV Air/Oil Separator (Made in Germany)
  • Custom, Pre-Formed, Fluoro-Lined Silicone Hose Set (Made in Britain)
  • Mounting Bracket
  • Drain Tube Kit with Oil Drain Valve
  • Hose Clamps and Hardware

Customer Reviews

“I installed the ProVent kit about 20,000 miles ago. I have been astonished at what it has caught. Overall I have been delighted with the product, especially the high-quality parts. These are not cheap knock-offs one may find on the internet for a fraction of the price. I paid a reasonable amount for my little diesel and want to take care of it. You should as well. It is worth every penny.”

“The ProVent kit is a great, comprehensive kit with factory-level fit and finish. The price does reflect that, but it’s worth it and a good chunk of the cost is the ProVent itself. I’ve run various catch cans on various vehicles over the years and had another brand’s catch can on my 2.8 Duramax, but it was a mess in the winter and came with no custom mount or hoses. The ProVent kit from Sasquatch is the only option folks should consider for the 2.8 Duramax when in the market for a catch can.”

“Bought a ProVent kit for the Colorado. Thought the price was crazy…until I got it. Looks factory and every single component, down to the hose clamps and cable ties are high quality. No garbage. The shipping was crazy fast and they threw in some stickers. Always love a good sticker. Really well done kit, solid company, you won’t regret it.”

“Thank you for your ProVent kit. It is the best and really does work efficiently.”

“Installed the provent kit and have been very satisfied with the results. The tube can usually be drained in the same intervals as oil changes, and I have had the tube almost completely fill up. It is a piece of mind to know it is being filtered out instead of being passed through the intake again. All of the hardware/ pieces that come with the kit are sturdy and of top tier finish. I was constantly checking the filter at first and was wondering if any oil vapor was being caught because it still seemed pretty clean. Don’t worry, the filter will become saturated after a bit and start dripping.”

“I purchased a provent catch can and bracket combo for my 2016 Colorado 2.8 . The bracket looks and fits nice . It was easy to install . The provent filter is doing its job as I have checked it during oil changes . I highly recommend getting one if you haven’t yet.”

“I purchased the ProVent catch can kit from Sasquatch Parts for my 2016 GMC Canyon 2.8 I-4 diesel. I’m very happy with my purchase. Fit and finish on the product is great. The quality of parts used is very good. The directions were detailed enough and easy to follow. I was also very happy with their communication. Had to wait for a while before I could purchase as this was a new kit they were putting together and they gave me updates every time I emailed and answered all of my questions.”

“The ProVent kit is a great addition to my other Sasquatch products.”

“The SasquatchParts ProVent 200 mount kit arrived yesterday, and was installed this morning. Overall, it’s a pretty straightforward process…The quality of the parts in the kit is excellent. While they’ve only been subjected to a 15-minute test drive so far, I’d expect them to hold up well against life in the engine bay.”

“Okay, I’m an old guy and I’ll admit to struggling with the price a bit as the Sasquatch installation kit with the ProVent was twice as much as what I could get the ProVent 200 alone for on Amazon. I watched some installation videos on YouTube both using the Sasquatch kit and without. I decided to go with the kit and ordered it reasoning with myself that the extra cost would not be that much over the time I owned the vehicle. I had my last truck about 12.5 years. As it turns out it was the best decision that I could have made installing this mod. I’ll also admit to being a bit of a stickler about my vehicles. The installation was a breeze. More importantly the finished product looks like it came that way from the factory. I used the black bracket and the molded hose’s fit was “spot on.” As I stood back when I was finished I was convinced that the price of the installation kit was worth every penny. Good job, Sasquatch. Thank you.”

“I installed this kit on my 2019 Colorado ZR2 Duramax and it’s just fantastic! The hoses and bracket that came with the kit are very high quality. Since the install I’m draining off around six ounces of oil every six to seven thousand miles. My only regret is not installing this kit from day one when I bought the truck. I also want to say how helpful the staff is in helping answer my questions via email. Thank you!!!”
