This is our complete Timing Belt Kit for the 2.8L Duramax (LWN) engine used in the 2016-2022 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax 2.8L diesel and 2016-2022 GMC Canyon Duramax 2.8L diesel. This complete kit includes all the items that should be replaced when doing the timing belt job. We have put together the absolute best quality components available in this kit. This is the best quality kit available anywhere.

GM specifies a 150,000 mile timing belt change interval. However, we recommend planning for this service at 100,000 miles. The 2.8L diesel is an “interference” engine, so a broken belt will cause the valves and pistons to collide (or interfere). As a result, damage involving bent valves and, in some cases, a broken piston can lead to daunting repairs. Better to be safe than sorry, and replace the belt on the early side.

The timing belt tool worked as it should, but with the added bracket holding the pulleys in place ensured a more precise belt alignment. I had another kit with just the cam pins only which left slack in the belt. Would highly recommend this tool for added peace of mind when replace the timing belt. Great service.
